You probably bought your brand new Oppo and you just discovered you can’t change your default launcher. Don’t worry, the good news here is it can be done and it doesn’t require you to root or modify your device. The option is available in the system settings, it’s just a little hidden and unfortunately, Oppo prevents launchers to help the user to find it.
This 4 steps procedure doesn’t require root or to use advanced tools. It has been tested on Oppo Reno but we are sure it will work on many other Oppo models running Color OS. (Oppo RealMe 1, Oppo F7, Oppo A57, Oppo A83, Oppo A37, Oppo A71, Oppo F5, Oppo F3, OPPO F3 Plus also reported as working)
First of all, you need to install Smart Launcher (the procedure works with any launcher).
1 – From any screen, swipe down the notification panel and press the setting icon in the top right corner.
2 – Scroll down the settings list to find “App management” and select it.
3 – Now select, “Default App” then “Homescreen”
4. Finally, you can set change your default launcher and confirm your choice.
You should now be able to enjoy your favorite launcher on your Oppo device!
At the moment, there aren’t any other known issues on Oppo device, if you find any, please report the problem to firstname.lastname@example.org
